about

"Aaron and I wrote this one shortly after David Vatchnadze died. Dave had seen potential in the band and nurtured that potential. Tom and I put our cash together after I finished Uni and we recorded an album as the, regretfully named, 'Adam Kidd Band'. Through our mutual friend Sweeval, Dave got to hear that album and then made sure we kept it under wraps! He could see the good aspects of what we were doing but also saw everything that was wrong and wasn't shy about telling us. He showed us where and how we needed to improve and funded recording and rehearsal time for the band, it was all very exciting. He set us on our path and then, sadly passed away just after we'd finished recording 'Into The Night' and 'Almost Home' at Brighton Electric Studios. Carrying on seemed uncertain after Dave died, but we wrote this because we knew we couldn't leave it alone." - Adam Kidd

lyrics

Leave It Alone

Say you made it top of your class
Well somebody had to finish last
If you think that you are better than them
I don’t think that you’ve learnt anything

If your heart isn’t in it man maybe you should go
I don’t know what the future holds any more
But I can’t leave it alone

You pointed to an apogee
We began to dream those golden dreams
Now you’re gone but we won’t bottle it up
Drink your poison but it’s not enough

Started up - we’re in motion now and we can’t let go
I don’t know what the future holds any more
But I can’t leave it alone

If your heart isn’t in it man maybe you should go
I don’t know what the future holds any more
But I can’t leave it alone
